The Pakistan cricket team is taking a well-deserved break today and tomorrow, gearing up to return to the practice nets on Saturday, September 9. They are diligently preparing for their upcoming Super 4 stage match.

Pakistan is all set to face their arch-rivals, India, in their second Super 4 stage clash on Sunday, September 10, in Colombo. Joining the Pakistan team in Colombo are the squads from Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

The remaining Super 4 stage matches of Asia Cup 2023, as well as the highly anticipated final, are scheduled to take place in the vibrant city of Colombo.

Pakistan has been a gracious host throughout the ongoing tournament, hosting a total of four matches, including the ongoing Super 4 fixture against Bangladesh.

Asia Cup 2023 featured six teams divided into two groups, with the top two teams from each group earning a coveted spot in the Super 4 stage. Hosts Pakistan and their traditional rivals, India, emerged as the top qualifiers from Group A, accumulating three points each after defeating Nepal and sharing a point due to a washed-out match between them. On the other hand, defending champions and co-hosts Sri Lanka, along with Bangladesh, secured their places in the Super 4 from Group B. Afghanistan narrowly missed out on a Super 4 berth, falling short by the narrowest of margins in their final group-stage match against Sri Lanka.

The Asia Cup 2023 commenced with great fervor as Pakistan defeated Asia Cup debutants Nepal in the tournament opener on August 30 in Multan. As the excitement builds, the grand finale of the tournament is scheduled for September 17 in Colombo.

This edition of Asia Cup 2023 is being contested in the One Day International (ODI) format, providing an invaluable opportunity for Asian teams to fine-tune their skills and preparations for the upcoming ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023, set to be held in India.
